Valley Medical Center Joins PACLAB Network
Partnership provides efficient and expedient laboratory benefits to physicians and patients
Renton, WA – April 24, 2009 – Valley Medical Center and PACLAB Network Laboratories today announced an alliance between the two organizations to provide enhanced community-based laboratory testing services in South King County.
By partnering with PACLAB, Valley Medical Center—the largest healthcare provider in South King County—combines their resources with the region’s largest and most well-respected healthcare systems: Providence Health System (Providence Centralia and Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett), Franciscan Health System, Overlake Hospital Medical Center, Stevens Hospital and PAML – one of the nation’s top reference laboratories.
Leaders of both organizations are looking toward achieving greater efficiencies for area physicians while handling greater volumes of patient laboratory examinations. “Valley Medical Center is an important addition to the broad network that PACLAB has been creating across Washington State since the mid-1990s,” said Stewart Adelman, PACLAB chief operating officer and general manager. “Our goal is to improve the working relationship between local providers, their patients and a communities’ hospital by providing high quality testing services locally.”
“As our hospital grows, so will the number of citizens we serve. The expertise and proven system that PACLAB brings to this partnership will result in better choices for both VMC physicians and independent physicians in South King County, and more satisfied patients” said Valley Medical Center’s Chief Executive Officer Rich Roodman. “We have found PACLAB’s services and capabilities to be an excellent match for the current and future needs of our public hospital and the citizens we serve.”
Recognized as one of the most successful laboratory networks in the United States, PACLAB Network Laboratories provides full service, state-of-the-art laboratory testing throughout western Washington. PACLAB began operations in November 1996 and includes fourteen member hospitals, over a hundred patient service centers located throughout the Puget Sound area and the largest esoteric testing laboratory in the Northwest—all combined to enhance local clinical laboratory capabilities.
